Democratic Leaders Urge Bush To Call G8 Crisis Summit

We are writing to support the request for an urgent meeting of G8 d, the heads of state to address the continuing instability in world financial markets and the freezing of credit in the world, their statement read. In a joint statement, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate majority leader Harry Reid Said: The American people and the world are looking to the United States for leadership. The two leading Democrats in Congress called Thursday on U.S. President George W Bush to convene a summit of the G8 leaders to try to resolve the financial crisis.
